Jamaica Women Super50 Campaign End in Defeat

Dethroned champions Jamaica ended the CG United West Indies women’s Super 50 tournament on a losing note, going down by 82 runs to Guyana in their third place playoff at Conaree today.

The Jamaicans were set 183 to win, but were bowled out for exactly 100 inside 32 overs.

Captain Rashada Williams top scored with 27 and Neisha-Ann Waisome 21

Nyia Latchman took 4 for 14.

Earlier Guyana made 182 for 8 off their 50 overs, thanks Realeanna Grimmond 71, Cherry-Ann Fraser 47 and captain Shemaine Campbell 26.

Waisome and Roshana Outar took 3-wickets each

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago were crowned new champions after beating Barbados by 7-wickets in the final at Warner Park.

Batting first, Barbados were bowled out for 71.

Asabi Callender top scored with 28.

Anisa Mohammed finished with 3 for 17, while Karishma Ramharack, Samara Ramnath and Amrita Ramtahal each bagged 2-wickets.

Chasing 72 to win, Trinidad and Tobago reached the target inside 24 overs.

Djenaba Joseph made 28 and Britney Cooper 17.

Shamilia Connell took 2-wickets.

Captain Ramharack had high praises for her bowlers.

Over at St. Paul Sports Club, Windward Islands beat the Leeward Islands by 71-runs in the 5th place play-offs.

The Windwards were bowled out for 130, with Jannillea Glasgow top scoring with 50.

Davronique Maynard took 4-wickets.

In reply, the Leewards were bowled out for 59.

Shawnisha Hector made 24.
