Jamaica’s male, female and mixed teams are in the USA for the Flag Football World Championships, from January 15-19.
Flag football is a variant of American football.
Instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier. In flag football, contact is limited between players.
The Jamaicans will compete in the fast-paced five-on-five format.
Jamaica’s squad is a mixture of local and international players. National coach, Keisha Hamilton, says over 1,000 teams from across the globe will be competing.
