Three time Jamaican Olympian, Dr. Una Morris, is one of thousands of California residents who unfortunately lost their houses to the destructive wildfires in the Greater Los Angeles area.
The 77 year old Morris who competed at the 1964, 68 and 72 Olympic games, was living in the Altadena area.
Sources have told Nationwide Sports that Dr. Morris literally had to drive through thick smoke to escape as her house was burnt to the ground.
Morris was also a two time sportswoman of the year winner in 1963 and 64.
Another Jamaican standout, 1976 Olympic 200m champion Donald Quarrie also lives in California, but his neighbourhood of San Dimas is currently out of danger’s way.
Legendary Track and Field agent Cubie Seegobin is also a resident of California, he too has not encountered any difficulty.
