Jamaica’s Owen Samuda defied the odds to win the Brooklyn Open recently at the Marine Park Golf Course in Brooklyn, USA.
He was third time lucky this year after an eight year lay-off.
Samuda won the championship division after shooting four under par 68 on the par 72 golf course.
He won by just one stroke ahead of Gabe Lee 69, while Andrew Giuliani and Luke Watson another Jamaican both shot one under par 71 to tie for third place.
The 29-player championship division was very competitive as the 40-year old runner-up Gabe Lee is a professional Korean golfer out of Queens, USA.
The other pro was 38-year old Guiliani who played professionally for seven years.
Samuda who is 54-years-old is a caddy at Pine Valley Golf Course in New Jersey.
He was very happy with his performance in the Brooklyn Open.
