Japan ‘Thrilled’ to Host 3rd World Champions – Ambassador

The ambassador of Japan to Jamaica, Yasuhiro Atsumi, says his country is thrilled to be hosting the World Athletics Championships for the third time in 2025.

Japan previously hosted the championships in Tokyo in 1991 and Osaka in 2007. This year’s staging set for Tokyo from September 13 to 21.

Speaking at the launch of the Scotiabank “Ticket to Tokyo” campaign, Ambassador Atsumi says he believes the championships will further unite both countries.

Ambassador Atsumi is anticipating another strong showing from Jamaica.
