The Jamaica Scorpions 13 man squad for the West Indies four day Championships has been selected, however the authorities are yet to sign off on a captain.
Opener John Campbell who led the team in last season’s Regional 50 overs tournament, has been recommended by the local selectors to once again take charge of the team.
However up to on Tuesday the authorities were yet to ratify Campbell.
Campbell steered the team to the final of the Limited overs tournament which was marred after he and his Barbados Pride counterpart Raymon Riefer failed to report for the toss.
Campbell was later suspended for four 50 over matches while Reifer is yet to learn his fate.
The full 13 member squad for the tournament John Campbell, Kirk McKenzie, Carlos Brown, Odain McCarthy. Jermaine Blackwood, Brad Barnes, Javor Royal, Romain Morris, Odean Smith, Marquino Mindley, Gordon Bryan, Tamarie Redwood and Javell Glenn.
Jamaica will open their campaign in the tournament on January 29 against the Windward Islands Volcanoes at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent.
The winners of the tournament will collect U.S250-Thousand dollars and 100-Thousand dollars for the runners up.
