President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Michael Ricketts, has confirmed that former England representative Mason Greenwood is now a Jamaican citizen and is eligible for selection for the senior men’s national team following months of speculation.

The former Manchester United striker could join the Jamaican squad in time for the final leg of World Cup qualifying action.

The former Manchester United player now plies his trade in French Ligue 1 for Marseille.

Greenwood last played International football back in September 2020 but saw his International career stalled following charges of attempted rape and assault, which were later dropped.

According to President Ricketts, the Greenwood family is happy with the news and the 23-year-old attacker is ready and raring to go for the Black, Green and Gold.
