The New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport has introduced a biometric screening system aimed at speeding up re-entry for US citizens arriving from overseas, part of the Port Authority’s US$19-billion overhaul of the airport. The initiative, called Enhanced Passenger Processing, uses facial-verification technology to confirm traveller identities in real time. The system, developed with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and biometric provider iProov, is designed to reduce wait times, while maintaining security standards.
