Chairman of the Jamaica Labour Party’s campaign committee, Dr. Christopher Tufton, is appealing to party supporters to exercise restraint and maintain peace.
This, after shots were fired in the vicinity of Member of Parliament, the Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, Donovan Williams, and members of his campaign team as they erected party material on Tuesday night.
Speaking on Nationwide This Morning, Dr. Tufton urged supporters to avoid jumping to conclusions.
The incident brings the constituency to the fore once again as shots rang out in the vicinity of a JLP meeting held in the constituency last month. The police reported that that incident did not appear to be politically motivated.
Dr. Tufton says the two incidents warrant increased policing.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tufton says the JLP is set to publish its manifesto ahead of the next general election.
