The governing JLP is condemning the Opposition protest and what it says are inappropriate attacks by the PNP on public servants and key office holders.
The JLP made the charge at a media conference at its Belmont Road headquarters on Monday, where the party reiterated that the government will not be strong-armed into reversing Dennis Chung’s appointment as head of the Financial Investigations Division.
Chevon Campbell reports
JLP Communication Task Force Chairman, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, slammed the PNP for what he described as attempting to bully the government into improper conduct.
He went further, describing the behaviour of members of the PNP as asinine.
Senator Fitz-Henley says the JLP has information of attempts by the PNP to get Dennis Chung to decline the position.
According to the JLP Communication Chairman, the PNP is selective in its outrage on public matters.
And, Member of the JLP Communication Task Force, Senator Marlon Morgan, says the PNP has no credibility to discuss matters of governance and corruption.
Mr. Morgan says the PNP could be described as the most corrupt political party in the English speaking Caribbean.
The JLP Senator says the PNP is attempting to drum up relevance ahead of impending General Elections.
