A member of the Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, Communication Task Force, Senator Marlon Morgan, says Opposition Spokesman on Justice, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, must apologise for her recent comments on the ending of the parliamentary term.
Scott-Mottley told a People’s National Party, PNP, meeting last week that the government was moving to block the tabling of the Integrity Commission’s Annual Report by bringing a premature end to the parliamentary term.
The matter was addressed in the Senate on Friday by both Senators Abka Fitz-Henley and Lambert Brown.
During the sitting, Senator Brown declared that Leader of Government Business in the House, Edmund Bartlett, told his Opposition counterpart, Phillip Paulwell, that the parliamentary term would come to an end last week.
However, both Paulwell and Bartlett have since rejected the claim as false.
Senator Morgan says Scott-Mottley must offer an apology for misleading the country.
Senator Morgan further accused the Opposition PNP of sacrificing truth for political gain.
