Chairman of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, Communication Task Force, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, is moving to dismiss the People’s National Party’s, PNP, complaint to the Office of the Political Ombudsman about comments made by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness at a constituency conference in St. James on Sunday.
The comments in question, concerned Dr. Holness’ charge to Labourites to protest against what he says is the “hypocrisy and badmind-ism” of the PNP.
According the PNP, the comments was an attempt to mobilise confrontation in public spaces. The PNP says it considers the prime minister’s remarks not only reckless but dangerous.
In its complaint, the party alleges six breaches of the political code of conduct.
But Senator Fitz-Henley says the complaint lacks merit.
