The Jamaica Labour Party is reporting an incident-free nomination day for all 63 of its candidates.
The update was provided by JLP representative on the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, Tom Tavares Finson.

And JLP leader, Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness, is expressing confidence that once voters consider the issues rationally, his Jamaica Labour Party will prevail in the September 3 General Election.
He made the comment while addressing the media shortly after being nominated in West Central St. Andrew.

Meanwhile, the People’s National Party, PNP, says it successfully nominated all its 63 candidates during Monday’s Nomination Day proceedings.
In a statement on Monday, the PNP says it’s now set to contest the upcoming General Election.
General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, noted that while there were challenges in a few constituencies, it was generally a smooth process.
He says Monday’s nominations mark the beginning of the final leg of the PNP’s journey toward victory.
Meanwhile, PNP President, Mark Golding, hailed the day as a powerful demonstration of the party’s readiness.
With the candidates now confirmed, the party says it will intensify its outreach, sharing with Jamaicans the plans outlined in its manifesto, Mission J.A.M.A.I.C.A L.O.V.E.
