The JLP is promising a SPARK-like project to improve water supply in rural Jamaica if it secures a third term in government.
Prime Minister and JLP leader, Dr Andrew Holness, made the announcement at a party meeting in St Thomas over the weekend.
Access to potable water in all communities is one of the key priorities under the Vision 2030 goals.
It covers a 21-year period from 2009 to 2030.
There have been several water improvement projects over the last few years, benefiting thousands of Jamaicans across the country.
Still, access to reliable water remains a challenge for some communities.
Dr. Holness says his government will now move forward with the rural water programme having ended the National Water Commission’s string of annual losses.
