The governing Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, is rejecting as disgraceful, unbecoming and shameful what it describes as the attack by the People’s National Party, PNP, during a media conference on Thursday on Dennis Chung.
It was recently announced that Chung will take up the role as chief technical director of the Financial Investigation Division, FID, starting June 2.
In a statement Thursday afternoon, member of the JLP’s communication task force, Senator Marlon Morgan, noted that Mr. Chung was appointed through a rigorous recruitment and appointment process managed by the Office of the Services Commission.
He says it’s disappointing that the PNP is not only attacking someone who has served his country but also bringing the selection process into disrepute.

And chairman of JLP’s communication task force, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, is also hitting back against the opposition PNP over what he says is their unbecoming posture on the appointment of Mr. Chung to the FID.
He says the opposition leader is playing the hypocrite.
