JOA Cautions Against Vilifying Athletes Who Switch Allegiance

President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, cautions against emotionally vilifying the athletes that are going through the process of switching their allegiance from Jamaica to Turkey.

These athletes include, Olympic discus champion and record holder, Roje Stona, Paris shot put bronze medallist, Rajindra Campbell, world and Olympic long jump silver medallist, Wayne Pinnock, and triple jump star Jaydon Hibbert.

Samuda says athletes should not be denied the same choice which other professionals make daily to leave Jamaica in search of financial security.

He’s sure it wasn’t an easy decision for the athletes.
