President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, is optimistic that Jamaica’s team will do well at the Junior Pan American Games, now underway in Asunción, Paraguay.
So far the Jamaicans have collected 2-medals – Silver from swimmer Sabrina Lyn and bronze from Collin McKenzie also in the pool.
The country sent a 115-member team to the multi-sport Games competing in 12-sporting disciplines.
These include, Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Cycling, Diving, Fencing, Golf, Rugby, Sailing, Swimming, Tennis and Wrestling.
Samuda says the athletes are gaining valuable experience.
