Jodian Pantry drops holiday single ‘My Christmas’

Jamaican singer Jodian Pantry releases her new holiday single, My Christmas, a soulful love song produced by Paul ‘Patchy’ Wright for IslandYard Productions. With warm vocals and a contemporary Christmas sound, Pantry offers a heartfelt performance for the season.

Written by Wright and Marie Walters Brown, My Christmas features contemporary production with harmonies by Sherieta Lewis, instrumentals by Lamont “Monty” Savory, Kaelon Wright, and Jermaine Williams, and Pantry’s rich vocals at its centre.

Wright shared that the creative direction was clear from the start, noting that, “The theme is love. We decorated it with that holiday romance vibe, like a Christmas tree. This song communicates pure contentment with that special person in your life. We created it intentionally so it could stand beside the greatest Christmas songs ever made.”

Fans may be most intrigued that Wright wrote the track specifically for Pantry, wishing for her to find real love and lasting happiness. Pantry connected with the lyrics even before knowing the story behind it.

“As I was recording, I instantly felt myself envisioning being in love and sharing life with someone special,” Pantry revealed, adding, “After so many heartbreaks, this song made me feel peaceful and hopeful. I even started wishing for a miracle, for love to finally find me this season.”

Pantry and Wright’s collaboration is evident on the track, with Pantry calling the partnership a perfect fit. “I prayed for someone exactly like Patchy, and then he appeared with songs for me. His creative direction, from the melody to the emotion he wanted, was built perfectly around who I am as an artiste and who I’m becoming.”

Visually, My Christmas is represented through a striking holiday portrait that captures Pantry draped in a flowing red gown beside a beautifully lit Christmas tree. “I’ve always loved a beautiful red dress and a well-lit Christmas tree,” Pantry shared. “I wanted the visuals to reflect that classic Christmas feel we all grew up with pepper lights, bright colours, romance, and joy.”

Released as Jamaica recovers from Hurricane Melissa, Pantry hopes the song encourages couples and families to reconnect: “I want husbands and wives, especially those barely holding on, to find each other again. Even if the foundation of a house is shaken, your heart can still be steady for the person you love. They are your gift. They are your Christmas.”

While Pantry hints that the track already stands as a defining moment in her artistic evolution. “This is my second original Christmas song, but it’s definitely my favourite. It challenged me vocally and emotionally. I hope this becomes a go-to holiday favourite worldwide, maybe even a Christmas movie soundtrack,” she said.
