John Saldivar Falls Short in Bid for UDP Chairmanship

John Saldivar – he ran for the seat of Chairman yesterday but only managed to garner some 99 votes out of the 505 ballots cast.  After being unable to regain the political powers in Belmopan, Saldivar was harping on his political expertise to get him back into the party’s executive.  In the end, however, that did not happen.  Prior to the votes being counted, the 58-year-old told Love News that he coins himself as one of the most honest politicians in the arena.

John Saldivar: “Well, I think I’m one of the most honest politicians in this game. And as much as others would want to dispute that there has never been any hardcore, real evidence on me that I am corrupt. And I maintain that I am not. I think I’m better than most of them when it comes to sincerity and honesty.”

John Saldivar served as the Belmopan Area Rep for the UDP from 2008 to 2015.
