Jordan Crooks Shines in NCAA Division 1 Swimming Championship

Jordan Crooks of the Cayman Islands, born to Jamaican parents, was on fire Thursday at the NCAA Division-1 swimming championships in Seattle.

The reigning world champion in the 50 metre freestyle in the 25 metre pool and world record holder won the NCAA title in the 25 yard pool in the 50 freestyle In 17.91 seconds.

He then teamed up with an almost full cast of CARIFTA region swimmers to win the 200 yard freestyle relay.

The team was Jordan Crooks, Brazilian Olympian Gui Caribe, reigning world junior champion in the 50 LCM free Nikoli Blackman of Trinidad and Tobago and Bahamian Olympian Lamar Taylor.

They won in an NCAA Championships record of 1:12.84.

The same quartet is also the fastest 200 yard freestyle relay of all time with their SEC winning time of 1:12.80.
