FOUR OF Jamaica’s leading football clubs, Arnett Gardens, Waterhouse, Mount Pleasant, and Cavalier will join forces with members of the entertainment industry for a spectacular Football Extravaganza at the National Stadium in Kingston on Friday, November 21.

The event forms part of a wider initiative to raise funds in support of recovery efforts following the passage of Hurricane Melissa, which has impacted communities across the island.

The collaboration between sport and entertainment promises thrilling football action, live performances, and appearances from some of Jamaica’s most recognisable names. The event also marks the beginning of a cultural partnership with the Black Excellence Alliance in Atlanta, which will host a reciprocal event at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at a later date, strengthening cross-cultural ties and support networks between Jamaica and the diaspora.

Tankweld, Television Jamaica, and PPIVOTT (284 Holdings Limited) will also partner with the initiative.

The event will be available to audiences worldwide on 1luvtv.com, powered by Kiswe, a global leader in streaming technology and services.

Fans can purchase access to all the events for US$1.99, with all proceeds going to the Kicking for Recovery campaign.

“The resumption of sport is key to the mindset of our people as the region prepares itself for World Cup football. Sport and entertainment are key facets of the Jamaican spirit, and we want to play our part. We thank the football fraternity and the entertainers. We are excited to do this,” said David Shirley, deputy chairman of Independence Park Limited (IPL).

PPIVOTT, 284 Holdings Limited director Nicola Bicknell, thinks “this joint venture is important in bringing football and entertainment together”.

The RJRGLEANER Communications Group has come on board and is committing to help making it a successful and meaningful event.

“For us at RJRGLEANER this isn’t just a broadcast partnership. It’s a chance to help Jamaica rebuild through the power of sport and entertainment,” said Andrew Brown, group marketing and digital media manager at RJRGLEANER Communications Group.

“Television Jamaica has always been at the heart of national moments like this. We’re proud to bring the event live to audiences on TVJ and Hitz 92FM, showing how media, music, and sport can unite the country for something that truly matters.”

Gates will open at 4 p.m., and the first game starts at five.

Grandstand tickets will cost $3,500 or US$30, and the Bleachers can be accessed for $1,500 or US$10.
