JPL First Round Continues With Double Header at Stadium East

The first round of the 2025/26 Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League continues with a double header at Stadium East, on Monday.

In the first match, Dunbeholden face Portmore United in a St. Catherine derby at 5pm, while Arnett Gardens tussle with Racing FC in the second match at 7.30pm.

In yesterday’s results, defending champions Cavalier opened the season with a goalless draw against Harbour View in the second match of a double header at Stadium East.

Cavalier played with ten players from minute 13 after Shane Watson was red carded.

In the first match, Waterhouse saw off Molynes United 2-nil.

Mario Simms gave Waterhouse the lead in minute 14 before Colorado Murray made it 2-nil for the Marcel Gayle Coached unit in the second half.

Simms described his goal as routine.

Murray says the focus from game one is to win the title.

Meanwhile last season’s beaten finalists Mount Pleasant Academy needed an 83rd minute equalizer from Owen Jumpp to rescue a point in a 2-all draw with Mobay United at Drax Hall.

Shaquille Bradford had shot Mount Pleasant ahead after 28 minutes before Jahmari Clarke and Dwight Merrick hit back for Montego Bay United.

In other games, Chapelton Maroons squeezed past Tivoli Gardens 2-1 while Treasure Beach Marked their return to the league with a 2-nil win over fellow newcomers Spanish Town Police.

The first round of games will end on Monday with Dunbeholden facing Portmore United and Arnett Gardens against Racing FC in a double header at Stadium East.
