JLP candidate for East Rural St Andrew, Juliet Holness, says she wants to be an example for members of parliament.
Mrs Holness spoke with our news centre on Monday.
Gordon Town Square was packed with thousands of JLP supporters as Mrs. Holness was nominated.
There was a traffic jam on both sides of the Gordon Town road as bikes, buses, vans and cars made their way to the town square.
Mrs Holness was escorted to the Gordon Town Community Centre in the square sometime after 11AM and she was officially nominated at 11:38AM.
She outlined several plans that will be in place if she secures a third term.

Mrs Holness would create history if she is elected for a third term in the constituency.
Since 1959, no MP has held the seat for more than two terms.
Meanwhile, the PNP candidate for East Rural St Andrew, Patrick Peterkin, claims he was delayed arriving at the nomination centre on Monday as JLP supporters had blocked sections Gordon Town Road.
According to Peterkin, his supporters were forced to seek alternate modes of transportation as a result of the traffic snarl.
