Captain of Kingston Cricket Club, Akim Fraser, says he believes the rebranding of the country’s top league will help to attract more attention to the competition which bowled off on Saturday.
The tournament was recently renamed the Michael Holding Senior Cup in honour of the Jamaica and West Indies legend.
Fraser says the decision was necessary.
He laments the lack of fans at the venues, but believes the Jamaica Cricket Association and the clubs will have to work hard to get younger people interested and involved in the sport.
