Fresh from a season marked by international acclaim and cultural milestones, Trinidad and Tobago’s Kes The Band is preparing to take Caribbean sound back onto the global stage with the launch of its Roots, Rock, Soca Tour, set to begin April 30 across Europe.

The announcement follows a defining start to the year for the globally celebrated ensemble. In January, the band delivered historic, two-night sold-out performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center during the Unity Jazz Festival, a moment widely viewed as a breakthrough showcasing soca music within one of the world’s most respected jazz institutions. The momentum continued with another sold-out showcase at SummerStage in Central Park, where Caribbean rhythm transformed a landmark Manhattan venue into a vibrant cultural celebration.

Those appearances served as more than performances; they reaffirmed the band’s artistic philosophy, music firmly rooted in Caribbean identity while confidently evolving within a global musical landscape. That same vision shapes the upcoming European run.

Roots, Rock, Soca is exactly who we are,” said lead vocalist Kees Dieffenthaller. “It’s our story, where we come from, how we’ve grown, and how we continue to represent Caribbean culture and music to the world with confidence and intention. This tour is about carrying that joyful spirit of our people everywhere and inviting new fans along for this beautiful journey into the culture.

The tour’s title reflects the band’s musical philosophy. “Roots” honors calypso traditions, African rhythmic heritage, and ancestral influences that shape their sound. “Rock” symbolizes experimentation and expansion into genres including reggae, R&B, and pop, while “Soca” remains the driving force, the energetic pulse of Caribbean expression that has propelled the group from Port-of-Spain to international acclaim.

The European leg will unfold across three consecutive nights in major cultural capitals:

  • Paris, France – Cabaret Sauvage (April 30)
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands – Paradiso (May 1)
  • London, United Kingdom – O2 Academy Brixton (May 2)

Each venue, known for hosting influential global acts, will provide the backdrop for the band’s signature live experience — high-energy performances blending musicianship, storytelling, and crowd-driven celebration. Fans can expect favorites such as Cocoa TeaHello, and Savannah Grass, alongside refreshed arrangements reflecting the group’s continued artistic evolution.

Presented in partnership with global touring agencies WME and Live Nation, the tour signals the growing international appetite for soca not only as festival music but as a respected global genre and cultural movement.

Under Dieffenthaller’s leadership, Kes The Band has emerged as one of the Caribbean’s most influential musical exports, known for soulful vocals, dynamic stage presence, and genre-blending versatility. Despite their expanding global reach, the group’s mission remains unchanged — to elevate Caribbean music with authenticity, pride, and purpose while ensuring the culture travels with the sound.
