Businessman Khris Rosado will have to wait until Monday to learn his sentence for causing death by careless conduct in the traffic collision that killed Police Constable Arsenio Cus. Rosado appeared before Justice Derick Sylvester this morning for sentencing, but the hearing was adjourned again, this time to October 5. Justice Sylvester apologized for the delay and told the court he would make an effort to conclude the matter at Rosado’s next appearance. Rosado pleaded guilty to the charge on June sixteenth of this year. The fatal collision occurred on July 28, 2025, between miles six and seven on the Philip Goldson Highway. According to the police account, thirty-eight-year-old Cus was riding a motorcycle from Ladyville toward Belize City when a vehicle entered his lane and struck him. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. Police later detained Rosado at his Ladyville home, where they also found a damaged Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. A post-mortem examination determined that Cus died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries caused by the collision. Cus was from Silver Creek Village. His death led to the investigation in which Rosado subsequently entered his guilty plea.
