Rapper testifies at federal trial that Combs was furious over his brief relationship with Cassie, weeks before his Porsche was firebombed.

Key Points:

  • Kid Cudi says Sean “Diddy” Combs broke into his home in 2011
  • Weeks later, Cudi’s Porsche was destroyed by fire in his driveway
  • He suspects Combs was responsible and recalls a cold exchange afterward
  • Trial testimony includes disturbing claims of abuse and hotel freak-offs

What Happened Between Kid Cudi and Diddy?

At a federal sex trafficking trial in Manhattan, Kid Cudi testified that Sean “Diddy” Combs broke into his Hollywood Hills home in 2011 after finding out Cudi was dating Cassie, Combs’ ex-girlfriend. A few weeks later, Cudi’s Porsche 911 convertible was firebombed.

Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, said he took Cassie to a hotel to avoid conflict with Combs. But while they were there, Combs’ assistant called and said she had been forced to accompany Combs and an associate into Cudi’s home.

When Cudi returned, he found opened gifts, his dog locked in a bathroom—and no Combs.

Car Firebombing: Cudi Says He Was the Target

Not long after the break-in, Cudi’s Porsche caught fire in his driveway. A Molotov cocktail was found in the car, and photos showed burned leather seats and a torn fabric roof.

Cassie testified earlier that Combs had threatened to blow up Cudi’s car after learning about their relationship. Cudi told jurors, “I knew he had something to do with it,” but the court struck that comment from the record.

Cudi met with Combs the next day to calm tensions. When he asked what they were going to do about the car, Combs allegedly replied coldly, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Years later, Combs offered a general apology when they crossed paths at a hotel, Cudi said.

Abuse Allegations Mount Against Combs

Cudi’s testimony followed days of damning claims from Cassie, who accused Combs of abusing her from 2007 to 2018. Other witnesses backed her account:

  • George Kaplan, Combs’ former assistant, said he saw Combs assault Cassie on a private jet in 2015.
  • Mylah Morales, a celebrity makeup artist, said Cassie had visible injuries after a hotel confrontation with Combs.
  • Frédéric Zemmour, a luxury hotel manager, said Combs checked in under aliases like “Frank White” and left behind oil and wax-covered rooms.

Cassie said those visits often involved “freak-offs” — drug-fueled sexual encounters with baby oil and hot wax.

Defense Suggests Cassie Manipulated Both Men

During cross-examination, Combs’ lawyer claimed Cassie had misled both Combs and Cudi by maintaining relationships with both men at the same time. Cudi admitted he didn’t know she was still seeing Combs.

Despite that, Cudi said he was in love with Cassie and was heartbroken when she returned to Combs.

What’s Next in the Trial?

Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He denies all accusations involving force, manipulation, or abuse.

The trial is scheduled to resume Tuesday.
