Last year’s finalists, Kingston Cricket Club and JDF met in the second round of the Michael Holding Senior Cup at Up Park Camp and like last year Kingston CC came away winners.
Kingston CC’s recorded an 11 wicket win for their second straight triumph of the season.
Batting first, the defending champions were bowled out for 295. Kirk McKenzie, 66, and Andre Bailey, 50, made most runs for the defending champions.
Gordon Bryan picked up 5 for 45.
In reply, the army men were bowled out for 129 in their first innings. Asked to follow-on, they were dismissed for 180.
Chasing 15 to win, the defending champions reached the target in just 2.2 overs.
Meanwhile, Melbourn beat UWI on first inning lead after their match ended in a draw at the Melbourne Oval.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, UWI were bowled out for 194. Captain Steven Wedderburn top scored with 61 and Kishawn Graham made 31.
Khari Campbell picked up four-wickets and Abhijai Mansingh, 3.
In reply, Melbourne led by half centuries from Mansingh and Javelle Glenn led the home team to 229 for 9 declared in the first innings.
Mansingh’s 76 included six fours and two sixes, while Glenn’s 57 included five fours and two sixes.
Raheem Morrison bagged four wickets and Graham took three wickets.
Batting a second time the visitors made 117 for 4 declared when play was called off.
Wedderburn was unbeaten on 33 and Daniel McFarlane made 41.
David Bird took two wickets.
Other winners include, Trelawny CA, Lucas, St. Ann CA, Clarendon CA, Boys Town, Westmoreland and St. Catherine.
