KSAFA Major League semi-finalists to be decided today

THE FOUR semi-finalists in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Major League will be decided today as the second legs of the quarter-final round get under way.

All four games in the first leg played last week had ended in a tie, which means each team will enter today’s fixtures beaming with confidence that they can advance to the final four.

Red Hills United and Allman Woodford had played out a 1-1 draw in their first encounter, and will seek to break the deadlock in the return fixture today at the Alpha Boys’ Home field.

Donovan Dennison, head coach of Red Hills, said while he would have wanted to enter the second leg with a few goals under his belt, he is confident his players can get the job done this time around.

“Playing at home in the first leg, we would have wanted a couple goals but, unfortunately, we didn’t get them,” Dennison said.

“We know, with the team that we have and the quality that we have, we can go and get those goals next week.”

Leading the lines for Red Hills will be the ever-reliable presence of Donovan Segree, who has been enjoying a prolific season with the club.

Allman Woodford will be hoping their home-field advantage will be enough to get by a solid Red Hills United that topped Zone A in the regular season.

Over at the Maverley Hughenden football field, New Kingston will take on Maxfield Park in their return-leg fixture, after a 1-1 draw last week.

New Kingston will be hoping to avoid last year’s pitfall where they were defeated by Cooreville Gardens in the quarter-finals.

Cooreville Gardens, on the other hand, will be looking to return to the semi-finals when they face off against Mountain View at home.

The two teams played out a scoreless draw in their first encounter, and will be hopeful of finding the back of the net this time around.

In the final quarter-final fixture, Seaview Gardens will play hosts to Police National, after ending the first leg without a goal.

Seaview had advanced all the way to the semi-finals last year, and are confident this could be their year to go all the way.

All matches are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
