The students of Lady Hochoy School in Gasparillo transformed the Pleasantville Community Centre into a moving stage of faith, reflection and triumph recently, as they delivered a powerful Easter concert capturing the struggles and ultimate resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In a deeply expressive monologue-style presentation, the students brought to life five poignant episodes tracing the final journey of Jesus—from his capture and suffering to his crucifixion and the promise of resurrection. With a blend of narration and dramatisation, the young performers conveyed the emotional weight of the story, while grounding their delivery in a clear biblical understanding of what they described as Jesus’ “greatest love of all.”
Music played a central role in the production. Guided by their teachers, the students delivered heartfelt renditions of well-loved songs, including Jesus Loves Me, I Need You Right Now, My Redeemer, Lord I Give You My Heart, and I Am Blessed. Their voices echoed through the hall, filling the space with a sense of joy, worship and renewal that resonated with those in attendance.
The concert formed part of the school’s Easter activities to close the academic term, but through storytelling, music and performance, the students shared the Easter narrative and demonstrated their own confidence and creativity.
