The Honourable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport share lens with the top 10 finalists in the Jamaica Festival Song Competition 2022.

“You have spoken and we have listened; the closing date extension has been granted. We have given you more time to prepare the highest standard and quality, especially the Jamaica Festival Song which is a semi-professional professional competition,” said Leyden-Kirton.

“We are hopeful that persons have taken advantage of the 14 extra days that were granted to submit their entries for this year’s competitions, which will commemorate Jamaica’s 61st Independence anniversary and JCDC’s 60th anniversary. Persons are allowed and encouraged to enter our competitions as applicable to their talents before the closing date,” said Leyden-Kirton.

These premier programmes have provided a platform for many of our talented Jamaicans to develop their talent and contribute to national development. The 2023 cycle for entrants will be a part of history that seeks to uplift the country,” said Leyden-Kirton.

The Jamaica Festival Song, Miss Jamaica Festival Queen, and the Jamaica Gospel Star Competitions are signature programmes of the JCDC and form a part of the independence celebrations that serve to unearth and showcase the creative talents of Jamaicans. Additional information regarding the entry process and competition guidelines may also be found on the JCDC’s website or visit any of the parish offices located island-wide.
