Lawrence Rowe Believes Current WI Test Squad Has Big Potential

Former Jamaica and West Indies batting stylist Lawrence “Yagga” Rowe says the current West Indies Test squad has the talent to develop into a very good outfit.

Rowe, who was speaking on i95 fm at the weekend, says the inconsistency of the players must be addressed if they are to get to the next level, especially the batters.

Rowe has also pointed out that comparing the modern day West Indies players to those of the past, is not necessarily a good thing, instead he says the current players must be allowed to carve out their own niche.

The West Indies are trailing Australia in their current three-match Test series after dropping the first game in Barbados last week.

The teams are meeting against starting Thursday in the second game in Grenada.

Australia will be strengthened by the return of their star batsman Steve Smith who missed the first Test with a finger injury sustained at the ICC World Test Championship Final against South Africa last month.
