Former People’s National Party, PNP, caretaker for Central Kingston, Lawrence Rowe, has filed a report with the Allman Town Police after he was allegedly assaulted by supporters of his successor, Steve McGregor on Monday night.
Rowe told our news centre on Tuesday morning that the incident happened after he attempted to record a video of McGregor’s supporters as they engaged in what he claims was an act of vandalism.
Rowe says he was forced to arm himself with a knife, when hours after the original dispute had been settled, a man he claims is a supporter of McGregor, attacked him and grabbed his shirt.

Rowe has shared with our news centre, a copy of what appears to be the receipt of a report filed with the Allman Town police. The receipt lists the nature of the report as ‘threat’ and ‘malicious destruction of property’.
Rowe has also sent us a picture of the shirt he says he was wearing at the time of the incident. The garment appears to bear rip marks on the front.
Meanwhile, when our news centre contacted PNP caretaker for Central Kingston, Steve McGregor for comment, he said he was unable to speak as he was busy at an important engagement.
He asked us to call him back.
