Leaders from Belize and Honduras Discuss Health, Security and Regional Cooperation

Prime Minister John Briceño met with Honduran President Nasry Asfura today during an official visit to Honduras. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries. With Belize holding the presidency of the Central American Integration System, SICA, the leaders also discussed strengthening regional dialogue and building consensus to advance Central American integration.  Health and security were among the key areas addressed. The two sides explored opportunities for Belize to recruit medical professionals from Honduras and for more Belizeans to pursue studies and specialized training there.  The Belizean delegation included Health and Wellness Minister Kevin Bernard; Chief Executive Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister Narda Garcia; Health Ministry CEO Julio Sabido; Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade CEO Oscar Arnold; and Belize’s Chargé d’Affaires in Honduras, Richard Vinelli.
