Jamaica’s 4-member team of Leanna Wainwright, Sidrell Williams, Nathaniel Thomas and Jessica Calderbank are in Budapest for the 6-day World Short course Swimming championships, starting on Tuesday.
Wainwright will be the first Jamaican in action.
She will swim from Lane-2 in Heat-2 of the women’s 100 metre backstroke, tomorrow morning at 3:36.
She will be trying to go after the 15-17 age group record of 1-minute, 3.44 seconds.
Williams will go next, in the men’s 50 metre butterfly
Williams will swim from lane-1 in heat 4.
He will be looking to go faster than the 24.67 seconds he posted in 2021
The swimmers will also be looking to see how they rank in the Caribbean at these Championships.
