Librarians from across the country are being trained in the art of puppet and mask making through a project hosted by the Institute of Creative Arts (ICA). The training shows the participants various techniques for making and decorating puppets and masks using various materials, including sponge and felt, as well as how to decorate them. Kim Vasquez, Director of the ICA, says that the librarians are being trained to hold workshops for students at their respective libraries. Facilitator Raquel Robles Pacheco, who came from Mexico, spoke via translator on what is being taught.
