1 week ago 3

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced the introduction of the Licensing Authority Driver’s Rehabilitation Programme. The initiative aims to assist disqualified drivers in regaining their driving privileges while encouraging safer road use.

The programme is being implemented in accordance with Section 88N(3) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act No. 9 of 2017. The legislation requires persons whose driving permits have been disqualified to complete a rehabilitation programme at no cost as a condition for reinstatement.

The schedule begins in Caroni on Monday, August 18 and Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Licensing Division Headquarters, Frederick Settlement. It will continue in San Fernando on Monday, August 25 and Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the San Fernando North Community Centre. Dates and venues for Port-of-Spain and Tobago will be announced later.

Each training session will be held over two days, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

To participate, disqualified drivers must register in advance via the Ministry’s Licensing appointment portal at https://licensingappointment.mowt.gov.tt/ or contact the Traffic Enforcement Centre hotline at 612-2696, or 612-4682 extensions 53514 and 53515.

The Ministry is encouraging all eligible persons to make use of the programme as part of efforts to improve road safety and promote responsible driving.
