The draw for the Champions League last 16 is complete with the tie of the round pitting Premier League leaders Liverpool against French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Holders Real Madrid face city rivals Atletico while the top two in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen meet. By comparison, the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona have been handed favourable draws.
Arsenal will face PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona take on Benfica who they faced in the league phase.
In the other fixtures Aston Villa will face Belgium’s Club Brugge while Borussia Dortmund was drawn against France’s Lille.
The first legs of those last-16 ties will be played on March 4 and 5 with the second legs coming a week later on March 11 and 12.
Meanwhile in the Europa League Manchester United have been drawn against Real Sociedad in the round of 16 while Tottenham Hotspur will meet AZ Alkmaar.
Elsewhere, Rangers will take on Fenerbahce in their last-eight tie. Ajax faces Eintracht Frankfurt, Bodo/Glimt will tackle Olympiacos and FCSB will clash with Lyon.
To complete the draw Roma will face Athletic Club and Viktoria Plzen take on Lazio.
The top eight teams from the competition’s new-look league phase qualified automatically for the round of 16 and are now joined by the eight teams who progressed through the playoff round.
