Liverpool’s title challenge in the English Premier League suffered a major dent today when they crashed 2-0 to Everton at Goodison Park in the Merseyside derby.
Jarrad Branthwaite’s first-half goal and a towering header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the break gave Everton their first Merseyside derby win at home since October 2010.
Liverpool remain second in the standings three points behind leaders Arsenal, but could be replaced by champions Manchester City who visit Brighton and Hove Albion tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Manchester United outscored relegation bound Sheffield United 4-2 at Old Trafford.
In other results, Crystal Palace are virtually safe after a 2-0 win over Newcastle at Selhurst Park, while Bournemouth stopped Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0.
