National female cycling champion, Llori Sharpe, has been released from hospital and recuperating after being struck from her bicycle in Spanish Town, earlier this week.
Carlton Simmonds, head coach of Jamaica’s Cycling team, says Sharpe, who suffered a fractured shoulder blade in the accident, is slowly recovering.
Sharpe who was a nominee for last year’s Sportswoman of the year is the defending champion for the Caribbean Cycling Championships.
This year’s staging is set for October 9 – 13 in Belize.
According to Simmonds, Sharpe should be ready to defend her crown.
