World Indoor Championships long jump bronze medallist, Carey McLeod, is among 10-Jamaicans down to compete at the Rome Diamond League meeting, on Friday.

McLeod has been one of the standout jumpers for 2025. He won the event at the Adidas Atlanta City Games with a leap of 8.33 metres, last month.

McLeod also won at the Josef Odlozil Memorial with a jump of 8.23 metres in Prague, on Monday.

Four other Jamaican field event athletes will also be on show in Rome.

Paris Olympics silver medallist, Shanieka Ricketts, will go in the triple jump. Romain Beckford and Raymond Richards will line up in the high jump and Olympic champion Rajindra Campbell will contest the shot put.

McLeod says it’s good that the diversity in Jamaica’s athletics is being highlighted.

He admits to feelings of loneliness during competition on the international circuit.
