Los Tambos to Hold Village Council By Election in September

Residents of Los Tambos in the Cayo District will return to the polls next month to elect a new member of the Village Council.  The Elections and Boundaries Department has declared the seat vacant following the death of Council Member Gilberto Gutierrez Junior.  A by-election has been scheduled for Sunday, September 6, in accordance with the Village Councils Act and its accompanying election regulations. Before that, nomination day will take place on Sunday, August 30, at the Los Tambos Government School. Nominations will open at nine o’clock in the morning and close at midday.  If an election is required, voting will also take place at the Los Tambos Government School on September 6. The polling station will open at nine o’clock in the morning and close at one o’clock in the afternoon.  The successful candidate will fill the vacant position on the Los Tambos Village Council.
