Belize’s privately-owned radio station, Love FM, is preparing to celebrate thirty-three years of broadcasting tomorrow, marking more than three decades of news, music and public service across the country. Founded in 1993 by broadcaster and entrepreneur Rene Villanueva Senior, the station began operations from a modest studio at number thirty-three Freetown Road in Belize City. Over the years, Love FM expanded its reach nationwide and now operates from its three-story headquarters on Slaughterhouse Road. Appearing on The Morning Show today, Villanueva reflected on the station’s journey, noting that its growth was made possible by the many people who contributed along the way, from staff and families to friends and long-time supporters.
Love FM’s anniversary is being celebrated alongside its sister stations More FM and Estereo Amor, which are also marking milestones this period. All stations, along with Love Television, operate under the umbrella company RSV Limited. Over the years, Love FM has played a central role in national broadcasting, covering major events, emergencies, elections and community stories, while remaining one of the most recognized voices in Belizean media. As the station enters its thirty-third year, management says the focus remains on innovation, public service and continuing the tradition of Belizean broadcasting built over generations.
