A young woman has died following a serious road traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of this morning near mile marker 32 along the Hummingbird Highway. Upon responding to the scene, officers observed a black vehicle over-turned with all four wheels in the air. At the scene, Belmopan residents, 31-year-old, Glenford McFadzean, and 25-year-old, Jalen Thompson, were found, along with Roaring Creek villagers, 22-year-old, Madeline Mendez, and 26-year-old, Michelle Miss. ASP Stacy Smith briefed the media on the preliminary findings.
Love News understands that the occupants were traveling from Dangriga Town to Belmopan. As a result of the crash, Mendez sustained a broken left leg, while McFadzean suffered abrasions to both legs and his right hand. Mendez, Mis, and McFadzean were transported by ambulance to the Western Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Medico-legal report forms were issued to Thompson, Mendez, and McFadzean, and a urine specimen was taken from the driver as part of standard procedure. Tragically, despite medical intervention, Mendez succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 5:06 a.m. Her body is now at the Western Regional Hospital Morgue, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
