Fast-rising production label Madtwin Records has opted to give a few select talents a chance at stardom. This initiative is dubbed the “St. Mary Empire” and will be a musical collective managed by the label. According to Jordon Sibley, who operates Madtwin Records, he sees it fit to create a musical hub for what he describes as a melting pot of talent that is present in the parish and its environs.
“St. Mary full a talent, however yuh done know inna di rural areas, access to proper recording studios as well as gaining the much needed exposure can be quite challenging. I want to be the agent of change for the St. Mary musical landscape, which is why I am creating the St. Mary Empire,” Sibley stated.
Born Jordon Sibley, the St. Mary native says he grew up in a musical family and has been producing music for over 14 years. The producer says he is passionate about creating a platform for creatives to thrive and collaborate.
“I decided to launch this competition online and give the winner a grand prize of JMD$100,000 as my way of giving back to the culture while unlocking new talents. I want to create a brand that will live on for generations to come. The competition is open to any talent who would like to be a part of the St. Mary Empire” stated Sibley.
Currently, Madtwin Records is busy promoting its St. Mary Empire riddim competition is making the rounds on social media with countless young talents bidding for their chance to join the team as well as secure the cash prize of JMD$100,000. Madtwin Records has worked with the likes of Yaksta and Swazz.
