For the third sitting in a row, Golding made good on a promise to absent himself and opposition members from the joint select committee reviewing legislation to transform Jamaica into a republic.

Committee chair and constitutional affairs minister, Marlene Malahoo Forte, describes the opposition’s boycott as selfish.

According to Minister Malahoo Forte, Mr. Golding’s stance is not surprising but disappointing.
