Man Charged for Murder of Partner in Domestic Dispute

Eris Enriquez Gavarette has been formally arrested and charged with the murder of 20-year-old Claritza Rosalee Granillo Rodriguez, whose life was violently cut short during a domestic dispute in Spanish Lookout, Cayo District. Gavarette, the victim’s common-law husband, was detained by police around 2pm yesterday, a day after the fatal stabbing. Rodriguez was found unresponsive with multiple stab wounds at a lumber yard residence on Center Road, where she had recently moved to live with Gavarette and several of his family members. According to police, the dispute began over loud music and escalated into deadly violence. Gavarette fled the scene immediately after the incident, but was later apprehended in the Santa Elena area, near La Loma Luz Boulevard.
