A Gasparillo man has been sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour, after he pleaded guilty to charges of robbery with violence and malicious damage.
The Police Service reports that Julien Toussaint, of Caratal Road in Gasparillo, was charged with the offences when he appeared before Master Delicia Bethelmy on July 21, 2025.
He was sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour on the charge of robbery with violence and 12 months’ hard labour for the malicious damage charge.
Both sentences are to run concurrently.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 18, 2025, in the Marabella district, where a 19-year-old female victim was allegedly robbed and assaulted by a male assailant.
The man was arrested shortly after the incident by officers of the Southern Division.
