Man Hospitalized After Brutal Machete Attack in Punta Gorda

A machete attack on Saturday evening in the vicinity of Punta Gorda Central Park has left Mark Usher, 45, hospitalized. Police reports are that Usher received major wounds to both sides of his head, as well as injuries to his forehead and left elbow. Following the incident, he was promptly transported to the Southern Regional Hospital for medical treatment. In connection with the attack, police detained Karl Martinez, 51, at the scene. He too was observed with several injuries… abrasions to his lips and neck. He was transported to the hospital where he’s receiving medical treatment under police guard. Police are yet to update the media on this vicious attack.
