Man’s body found below Maracas lookout

The body of a man was found below the North Coast Road near the Maracas lookout on Tuesday morning.

Police said a member of the public contacted the Maracas Bay Police Station at about 10.26 am after noticing a foul odour while walking along the road shortly after 10 am.

The man’s body was found about 200 metres from the lookout, approximately 15 feet over a precipice on the eastern side of the roadway.

He was barefoot and wearing three-quarter-length blue trousers and a grey vest. His body bore what appeared to be injuries.
